Terms of Service

Bóbr Academy is an independent project operated by Mauricio Lassakoski (individual).

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Bóbr Academy application and website ("Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Bóbr Academy is an online platform for learning the Polish language. It offers grammar lessons, interactive exercises, cultural content, and progress tracking.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of relevant changes whenever possible.

2. Account Registration

To access personalized features, you must create an account by authenticating via Google, Facebook, or Apple. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
  • Keep your authentication credentials secure.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old or the minimum age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for illegal purposes or in violation of these Terms.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Scrape or extract content from the Service through automated means.
  • Submit mass false answers or exploit the exercise completion system.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Transmit malware, spam, or malicious code.

4. Intellectual Property

All content provided through the Service — including grammar lessons, exercises, cultural articles, images, and the Bóbr Academy brand — is owned by or licensed to Bóbr Academy, and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial learning purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from any Service content without prior written permission.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

The Service offers a free plan and may offer premium subscription plans. When premium features are available:

  • Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) as described at the time of purchase.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws, including the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code (CDC).
  • We reserve the right to change prices with at least 30 days' notice.

6. Privacy

Use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for reasons including, but not limited to, violations of these Terms or misuse of the Service. You can delete your account at any time in the Account Settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability — will remain in effect.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
  • The educational content is error-free (Polish grammar is complex; we strive for accuracy, but errors may exist).
  • The results of using the Service will meet your specific learning goals.

The Service is educational in nature and does not constitute a guarantee of specific results.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bóbr Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, revenue, or reputation — arising from your use or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim, or R$ 100.00, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights that cannot be legally excluded.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, including the Consumer Defense Code (CDC - Law No. 8.078/1990) and the LGPD. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of São Paulo, Brazil, except where consumer protection legislation dictates a different jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of relevant changes through the application or by email at least 15 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
